Our Open House is this Saturday, August 4, from 12-4pm. This is our first event at our new farm and we can't wait to show it off! Sunshine Horses has been in operation since 2003 and has placed over 200 horses.

We are overwhelmed by the support that we have received from the community since moving to Clay, NY in May. We hoped that moving to a location (more central to the Syracuse area) would allow us to reach more people. We are happy to say that we have seen an increase in volunteers, sponsors and community donations since our move.

Events like the Open House go towards our operational costs. Our monthly expenses include sawdust, feed, supplements and medication, mortgage and property maintenance and farrier and veterinary services. For the month of June 2018, our expenses totaled over $19,000. We received just over $12,000 in June. This includes money received from horse sponsorship, adoption fees and donations.

When our expenditures exceed our donations, we have to pull from our savings and emergency funds to cover our operational costs. These accounts are meant to cover unexpected veterinary costs, major property repairs and other unplanned situations. Repeatedly pulling from these funds for operational costs compromises the stability of our organization. Your donations directly support the existence of Sunshine Horses, our impact on the community and our ability to rescue horses in need. We hope to see you at the farm this weekend for our Open House.
