Description: Annabelle arrived at Sunshine Horses with three of her friends after being rescued from a severe neglect situation. While her past has left her uncertain at times, she is showing us every day just how much she wants to connect and learn.

The moment she sees someone coming to the pasture, Annabelle is usually the first to call out a greeting. She happily walks beside her handler and believes peppermint treats are one of life's greatest treasures.

Recently, Annabelle has begun her groundwork training. As she learns how to navigate relationships with people, she is discovering that humans can be kind, consistent, and trustworthy. Some days are easier than others, and she needs patient, understanding handlers who allow her the time and space to process new experiences and build confidence.

Watching her transformation has been incredibly rewarding. Every day she grows a little stronger, a little more confident, and a little more trusting. Horses like Annabelle remind us that healing isn't always a straight line—but with patience, compassion, and time, remarkable things can happen. We still have a long way to go with her, but we know that when she finds her right person, the connection will be unbreakable.
