Description: Dawn’s story is one of resilience. A few years ago she was rescued from being slaughtered — taken right off the truck. She has developed arthritis, which makes her stiff if she stays stalled too long, so we try to keep her moving as much as possible.
Recently she lost her second eye after a serious bout with glaucoma, yet she’s been a real trooper, adapting to life blind in the pasture. A couple of her stable-mates even wear bells so she can track where they are.
Dawn is now a permanent resident at Sunshine.
