Description: Tex is a sweet, gentle, quiet guy who is just beginning his journey under saddle. He responds nicely to vocal and leg cues, although he’s perfectly happy taking things at his own nice-and-slow pace!

We think Tex could make a wonderful, relaxed trail horse. He stands nicely on cross ties, loves to be groomed and pampered, and is proving to be a willing learner. He has also started light liberty work and will follow his schooler around the arena using just vocal cues.

We believe Tex spent much of his life as an Amish cart horse, and his experience shows. Our arena props and obstacles don’t phase him at all — he’s a natural when it comes to desensitization!

After being adopted, Tex was boarded at a local barn where, sadly, his owner eventually abandoned him. The barn reached out to us, and Tex came to Sunshine for the second chance he deserves.

Tex isn’t in a hurry. He’s a quiet, uncomplicated guy looking for someone who will appreciate his sweet nature and enjoy watching him blossom into a wonderful partner.
