Sunshine Horses, Inc. is an independent 501c3 not for profit corporation, adoption agency and rescue facility for all horses in need. Founded in 2003, Sunshine has found loving homes for more than 250 horses and is one of the leading Standardbred Aftercare Facilities in New York State.
“The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.”
– Martin Luther King Jr.

Wild Run Hanover, Runner, was a racehorse with winnings of nearly $75,000. With his racing career over, he worked for the Amish and by no fault of his own, ended up at a Kill Pen in Pennsylvania. When he arrived at Sunshine, he was scared and broken. Today, Runner thrives and is beautiful, funny, and sassy. He was one of the lucky ones. There are so many ‘Runners’ waiting to be saved.
Please help us save more!
UPDATE:
Runner has since found his ‘forever home’ and is enjoying the retirement he truly deserves.
